New Delhi: The sudden death of the Son of sardaar actor Mukul Dev has shocked everyone. After his demise,  speculations suggested that the actor died due to depression and loneliness. Amid all these, his brother and actor Rahul Dev shared the real reason for the death of the late actor. He shared what exactly happened to him.

He also said that the people who claim themselves as Mukul’s friends never visited him in his last days, nor in the last prayers of the actor. He also urged the fans not to believe in the rumours anymore. Mukul Dev passed away on May 23, 2024, at the age of 54. It was said that the actor was admitted to the hospital and was undergoing treatment in the ICU.

What happened to Mukul Dev?

The actor Rahul Dev, brother of Mukul Dev, shared with The Times Of India, opened up about the late actor’s death and what caused his sudden demise. The actor clarified that Mukul was not depressed or mentally ill in contrary to the speculations. He said, ”He was in the ICU for eight and a half days. Medically, it was a result of poor eating habits. In the last four or five days, he had stopped eating altogether. Of course, he felt lonely, and he had lost interest in life…He would turn down several work offers… Only now, after completing all the rituals, is the reality sinking in — and I know the pain will only deepen.”

He also shared that Mukul shifted to Delhi in 2019 to look after their father, but he passed away the following year. The actor further added that his mother passed away in 2023, and from then on, Mukul was much engrossed in writing. He had declined many movie offers and gave more time to write. Rahul also shared that his brother was a divorcee, and he used to miss his daughter often.

When asked about depression, the actor declined the speculations by saying, “The people who are speaking out now weren’t even in touch with him. They say he was unfit, but he ran half-marathons. Yes, he had gained weight — when someone stops caring about themselves, it shows… Who stayed in touch with him between 2019 and 2024? Did they visit him when he was in the hospital or attend his prayer meet?”.

Rahul said that his brother was a super charming, intelligent, and sensitive person; he was not someone who could truly fade away with time.
