
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the complete schedule for the ICC Women's 50-over World Cup. Co-hosts India will be in action on day one of the tournament, facing their Asian counterparts Sri Lanka on September 30, 2025 at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.Five cities in Bengaluru, Vizag, Indore, Guwahati and Colombo have been scheduled to host the tournament. With the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) refusing to send its team to India, Colombo will be the venue for the fixture against India set to take place on October 5th. Defending champions Australia will open their campaign against their Trans-Tasman rivals New Zealand in Indore on October 1.Bengaluru will host the second semi-final on October 30. Guwahati or Colombo will stage the first on the 29th. Colombo/Benglauru will be the venue for the final on November 2. Colombo will notably host 11 matches in the tournament.India yet to lift the Women's 50-over World CupMeanwhile, the Women in Blue's best performance in 50-over World Cups have been reaching the runners-up in 2020 edition and making it to the semi-finals on four occasions. However, the coveted trophy has eluded them all the occasions.The 2022 edition hosted by New Zealand saw India get eliminated in the group stage as they finished fifth three victories and four defeats. India's wins came against Pakistan, West Indies and Bangladesh.
