This week 5 big factor deciding the direction of the market

1. Israel-Iran Tension: Pressure of geopolitical risk: Last week, increasing stress increased the prices of crude oil up to 10%. If the situation worsens, then in the event of Iran blocking the Straight of Hormuz, 2 crore barrel oil supply may stop, which can increase fear in the global market. Its effect can be seen as inflation and current account deficit on the oil importing economy like India.

2. Wholesale inflation (WPI) figures: Retail inflation (CPI) released on June 12 stood at a 6 -year low of 2.82%. Now WPI data is going to be released this week. WPI was at 0.85% in April (it was 0.53% in March). If the wholesale inflation is further reduced, the RBI may increase the pressure to cut interest rates.

3. Monsoon move: This time the possibility of better monsoon has been expressed than normal. If the monsoon is on track, FMCG, Agriculture and Rural Sector will get support. However, if the monsoon is weakened, the rural demand may decrease, which is possible to decline in the market.

4. How will FPI’s tendency be? Talking about FPI, shares worth Rs 4,812 crore have been sold so far in the month of June. If this trend continues, then there will be pressure on the market. However, if there are positive indications from the Federal Reserve, it is possible to return foreign investors.

5. US Federal Reserve meeting: This week Fed Chair Jerome Powell’s comment may be decisive for the market. If the fed indicates cuts in interest rates, it will be positive for emerging markets including India. But if the fed maintains a tough stance, then the decline in the market may intensify.
