The Nepal-Netherlands T20 match in Glasgow required a third Super Over to determine the winner, making it a historic encounter.
New Delhi: A historic T20 match in the 2025 Scotland Tri-Nation Series between Nepal and the Netherlands required three Super Overs to determine a winner. This unprecedented event in men’s professional cricket arose after Nepal, needing 16 runs from the final over, tied the Netherlands’ score of 152. The Tri-Nation series winner was subsequently decided by a Super Over playoff.
First super over
Daniel Doram’s bowling performance for the Netherlands proved costly, conceding 19 runs which included two sixes and a four by Kushal Bhurtel. This allowed Nepal to reach the Netherlands’ score, resulting in a Super Over to decide the winner.
Second super over
Nepal’s Lalit Rajbanshi conceded two sixes early in the second Super Over, but ultimately limited the Netherlands to 17 runs from six balls. Nepal’s response saw Rohit Paudel hit a six in the first ball, forcing a third Super Over after Dipendra Singh Airee’s contributions.
Third super over
In the third Super Over, Netherlands’ Zach Lion-Chachet bowled out Paudal and Rupesh Singh, preventing Nepal from scoring. A six hit by Levitt secured victory for the Netherlands.
