Android vs iOS Which is better? This debate will always go on. While Android is ahead in customization and flexibility, iOS is known for its security, ecosystem, and smooth UI, but believe it or not, some basic features have been in Android for years and iOS is now including them. One such update has come in iOS 26 now you can easily set custom ringtones on your iPhone.
What was the hassle earlier?
So far iPhone users have only two ways, first either buy ringtones from the iTunes Store by paying money or create ringtones yourself through a complicated process through GarageBand. Users were very upset with both methods.
What's new in iOS 26 now?
In iOS 26 (currently in developer preview), Apple has added a "Use as Ringtone" feature, which allows you to make any audio file present in your device a direct ringtone. First make sure that your favorite audio file is in your iPhone (in Files or Voice Memos app).
If the file is in the Files app, long tap it and go to Share. If the file is in Voice Memos, tap the three dots next to the memo, then choose Share. Scroll up a bit in the Share menu and tap “Use as Ringtone”. That’s it! Your custom ringtone will be set and appear in the Sounds & Haptics > Ringtones section.
