We talked to psychologist Aruba Kabir, who shared some simple but powerful behavior, which can make any person feel more secure, seen and confident. So, here are 7 easy and effective habits that can help you to create confidence and move forward in everyday life.
1. Take place
From a young age, many of us are asked to adjust, stay humble or not to do the spectacle. But true confidence comes when you allow yourself to take place – physical, emotional and mentally. Kabir says, “You don’t have to be loud or perfect.” “You just need to be real.” To take place is not an ego, it has to be withdrawn from what you always had. Also, make sure that you do not have any guilt to clarify your point.
2. Say “No” and don’t feel bad about it
Especially for women, setting boundaries is often considered rude or derogatory. But when you do not want to say, it still reduces your self-esteem. Kabir explains, “Every time you respect the internal voice that says ‘I am not right with it,’ then you are strong.” Boundaries are not rejections, they are security.
3. Place people around you who respect your ‘now’
Sometimes, we remain in unhealthy relationships just to avoid decisions or loneliness. But as Kabir says, “Self -confidence dies in places where you are tolerated, and not nourished.” Choose living around such people who give importance to your current situation, not just your ability. Even if they are only a few people, their support can be powerful.
4. They should do small things about which you were ever told that you can’t do
Whether it is to dance, ask questions, or wear the dress you like – start doing things for which you were never “not very good”. Kabir says, “Every time you come forward despite self-doubt, you write your internal story again.” It is not about perfection. It is about coming out anyway.
5. Make peace with fear, don’t fight it
Fear does not mean that you lack confidence. In fact, most confidents still feel afraid, they have just learned that fear should not be allowed to make their decisions. Sit with your fear. Understand this. Kabir says, “Look at whom it is trying to save you.” When fear stops running your life, confidence increases.
6. Make trust in yourself, a small step at a time
Self-confidence has a deep connection with self-confidence. Can you rely on yourself when you find difficult in life? Start by making small promises like drinking enough water or completing a walk. Kabir says, “It is not about being perfect, it is about being constantly.”
7. Stop looking for approval to feel qualified
Many of us grow up assuming that love should be earned through achievements or obedience. But it is not true. Dr. Kabir says, “You are already enough.” The confidence begins when you stop connecting your value with digits, jobs or appreciation and simply start looking at the value in your being.
