Shah Rukh Khan has finally begun filming for his next release King directed by Siddharth Anand from Monday, June 15, 2025, in Mumbai.

A report in Mid-Day has revealed that a European Jail set was erected in Bandra’s Mehboob Studios and features Shah Rukh Khan’s massiest fight scenes till date.

Sharing the details, a source told the website that SRK will continue to shoot for the sequence till June 21, 2025, and added, “The scene is set in a foreign jail, where the protagonist takes on a gang of baddies. Since it forms a critical part of the narrative, Siddharth has flown in three international stunt experts to design the scene. On June 15, the crowd portions were canned with nearly 200 stunt performers.”

Shah Rukh Khan underwent a week long training to prepare for the role of a gangster/assassin in the film and particularly for this specific action scene, “The stunts are unlike what he did in Jawan and Pathaan. Siddharth wants to present him in a raw avatar,” the source concluded.

The film features Abhishek Bachchan as the lead antagonist who wasn’t a part of the shoot.

Besides Shah Rukh Khan and Abhishek Bachchan, King also stars Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Arshad Warsi, Jaideep Ahlawat, Raghav Juyal, Suhana Khan, Abhay Verma, Anil Kapoor, Saurabh Shukla and Jackie Shroff.

King is expected to release in theatres by Gandhi Jayanti 2026. If that happens, it will clash with Ajay Devgn starrer highly anticipated Drishyam 3.
