
Celebrity chef and Food Network personality Anne Burrell has passed away at the age of 55, a Food Network representative confirmed in a statement released on Tuesday.
It is with profound sorrow that we announce Anne Burrell, 55, died this morning at her residence in New York," read the network's official statement. "With her signature spiky blonde hair and effervescent personality, Anne Burrell was the wildly popular and fan favorite host of Food Network's hit series, Worst Cooks in America . Burrell was a veteran of the industry and devoted teacher who took pride in her work in the culinary industry.
Burrell's family also released a statement, honoring her life and legacy. "Anne was a devoted wife, sister, daughter, stepmother, and friend — her smile brightened every room she entered into," the statement read. "Anne's light shone far beyond those who knew her, touching millions of people around the globe. Although she is gone from us, her warmth, spirit, and limitless love live on forever."
The Food Network also posted a tribute on social media, along with a picture of the deceased chef. "We are saddened to announce the passing of beloved chef, Anne Burrell, this morning," the caption stated. "Anne was an incredible individual and culinary asset – teaching, competing and consistently bringing home the value of food in her life and the happiness that a great meal brings.".
