With the now open, it means Arsenal will be looking at alternatives. football.london understands and Arteta are keen to sign a wide forward this summer, but who that player is remains to be seen. Below are three potential players the north Londoners may look to target.

Anthony Gordon

Newcastle United's Anthony Gordon is a player who Arsenal like, according to . The Englishman has done well for the Magpies since his £45million move from Everton in January 2023 but has been linked with an exit from the Toon, with Liverpool linked last summer.

The 24-year-old, capable of playing anywhere across the front line, contributed to 16 goals in 42 games last season and is a real threat, especially down the left hand side. Newcastle are said to value Gordon at around £100million, though, which means any deal is likely to be very expensive.

Speaking to Sky Sports last year, Gordon said on his future: "I have heard so much talk this year about my future, where I am going, where I want to go. Without anybody asking me. All I have heard is ‘When is he leaving’ which is… who said I was ever going to leave? I am very, very happy here.. I love this place. I love playing football here."

Rodrygo

Another winger who continues to be linked with a move to the Premier League is Rodrygo. The Real Madrid star is being tracked by the Gunners, with the club "keeping an eye" on the 24-year-old this summer.

Rodrygo's attitude is said to have been "positive" in training with Madrid as they prepare to feature at the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States under new manager Xabi Alonso. It's also been reported that Rodrygo's agent is not expected to hold talks about the player's future in the coming weeks.

The Brazilian could be available for around £65million but a lot will depend on new boss Alonso and how the Spaniard plans to use Rodrygo at Madrid. One to definitely watch in the coming weeks.

Anthony Elanga

Arsenal are apparently one of a number of clubs with a "keen interest" in Nottingham Forest star Anthony Elanga. The 23-year-old's performances helped Nuno Espirito Santo's side secure European qualification for next season, with the former Manchester United man scoring six goals and laying on 12 assists for his teammates.

Blessed with electric pace and an unbelievable work ethic, Elanga could be available for around £50million. “There is a lot of talk. I focus on what I can do and my focus today was on the match. In football there are always rumours. The most important thing is that I focus on what I can control," the Forest man said last week on his future.

“I guess there will always be scouts wherever I play. As long as I stay focused and do my best in the match. I just keep my focus and what I can control. That's what I can do on and off the field. I focus on the next day and action. That's what I can do.”
