Rajsthan Monsoon Update: Monsoon has arrived in Rajasthan about a week before the scheduled time, due to which heavy rains are occurring in many parts of the state. Radheshyam Sharma of Meteorological Center Jaipur said that on June 18, monsoon has entered some areas of south and south-eastern Rajasthan.
Arrival of monsoon and its current status
At present, monsoon has become active in all the areas of Udaipur and Kota divisions as well as some parts of Jodhpur, Ajmer, Jaipur and Bharatpur divisions. During the last 24 hours, moderate to heavy rains were recorded in most parts of the state, while heavy rains also occurred at some places. In eastern Rajasthan, Kaman, Bharatpur recorded the highest rainfall of 101 mm, while Raniwada, Jalore in western Rajasthan recorded 84 mm rainfall.
What next? Heavy rain alert for next two days
Currently, a low pressure area is formed over central Rajasthan, due to which monsoon activity will remain in eastern Rajasthan for the next two days. During this time, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rains at some places in Udaipur, Kota and Ajmer divisions. This means that some places in south-eastern Rajasthan may receive more than 100 mm of rainfall in the next two days. Moderate to heavy rains are also expected to continue in the remaining parts of eastern Rajasthan.
New round of heavy rain from June 21
In eastern India too, a well marked low pressure area is formed over West Bengal and adjoining areas. This system is likely to move slowly in the west-north-west direction in the next two-three days. The effect of this system will start appearing in eastern Rajasthan from June 21, due to which a new phase of heavy rain will start in Rajasthan once again during June 21 to 23.
How will the weather be in Rajasthan?
Overall, moderate to strong rains and sometimes heavy rains will continue in most areas of eastern Rajasthan for the next 5 to 7 days. At the same time, a slight decrease in rain can be seen in the border areas of Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions of western Rajasthan, but in the rest of the areas, moderate and light rain activities will continue for the next 4-5 days.
