Delhi Weather:  The rain in Delhi-NCR on Tuesday definitely gave people some relief from the scorching heat and humidity, but on Wednesday the weather changed again. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued a yellow alert on June 18 and predicted rain. The weather was clear in the morning, which made it seem that the forecast would be accurate, but in the afternoon the sun came out brightly and the temperature started rising again. The heat and humidity again made people miserable.

Why is it difficult to get accurate weather forecast in Delhi?

Let us tell you that it is not easy for the Meteorological Department to accurately predict the weather in a metropolis like Delhi. The biggest reason for this is the rapidly changing micro-climate of Delhi. Due to rapid urbanization and increasing concrete structures in the city, there is a sudden change in the local weather. The second challenge is that IMD has satellites and radars, but due to delay in data updates and limited coverage, there is often a mistake in the forecast. The pre-monsoon season itself is very unstable and the moist winds change their direction at the last moment, due to which the chances of rain suddenly end.

No heatwave from June 18 to June 24, a sign of relief

The latest forecast of the Meteorological Department is a relief for the people troubled by the heat of Delhi. According to the IMD, there is no possibility of heatwave in Delhi between June 18 and June 24. This week will be cloudy, there will be chances of light rain and cold winds will blow. This is expected to provide relief from humidity and scorching heat. According to the department, there may be rain with thunder on the evening of June 18 and 19, while the winds will blow at a speed of 40 to 60 kilometers per hour. The temperature will also be between 33 to 37 degrees Celsius, which is below normal.

Light rain will start from June 20 and then the monsoon mood will return

There is a possibility of light rain and partly cloudy weather in the capital on June 20. After this, rain with thunder and strong winds is expected once again between June 21 and 24. The Meteorological Department says that the weather will remain pleasant during this period and the effect of heat will be less.

Temperature will remain below average in Safdarjung

The average temperature in June at Delhi’s Safdarjung Observatory is 38.8°C, but this time the temperature is expected to be between 33 and 37°C. This is much lower than normal and will prove to be a relief to people from the heat. Winds blowing from the east and south-east direction will blow at a speed of 10 to 25 kilometers per hour throughout the week. The Meteorological Department has also said that the accuracy of the forecast may decrease with time, but at present a glimpse of relief-filled weather is visible in the capital.
