Students' Frustration at Delhi Airport
After returning from Iran, students from Jammu and Kashmir voiced their displeasure at the Delhi airport. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah announced that deluxe buses would be dispatched to bring the students back home. The students expressed their frustration upon seeing Jammu Roadways buses, as they were informed that they would be transported to Srinagar via these buses. They stated, 'It is unacceptable that we are now being sent by bus instead of by flight. We have been traveling for the past four days, and now we are expected to endure another long and arduous journey by bus, which is intolerable.'
Government Response to Students' Concerns
In light of the students' dissatisfaction, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah confirmed that they would be transported in deluxe buses from Delhi to the Union Territory. The Chief Minister's office posted on social media that the Resident Commissioner had been instructed to arrange deluxe buses from the Jammu and Kashmir Road Transport Corporation for the students' return. The office emphasized that the Chief Minister acknowledged the students' request regarding the quality of the arranged buses. Omar Abdullah shared a post on his official social media account stating, 'The Resident Commissioner has been tasked with coordinating with JKSRTC to ensure that suitable deluxe buses are arranged.' In another update, he mentioned, 'Our 94 students who returned from Iran have safely arrived in Delhi. The government is organizing transportation for their return, which will be completed in the next few hours.'
