Bengaluru Power Outage On June 20, 2025: BESCOM Schedules Maintenance Shutdowns Across City

The Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) has announced scheduled power outages across parts of Bengaluru on Friday, June 20, due to ongoing underground cable installations and transformer upgrade work.

The power cut is expected to last from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, affecting several areas in city and surrounding areas.

Bengaluru Power Cut Affected Areas

Primary Areas: Manjunath Nagar, Thimmaiah Road, Bhovi Colony, Mahaganapati Nagar, Pushpanjali Apartment, Shivanahalli Park, Adarsh Nagar, Adarsh Layout, Unix Colony, Indira Nagar, Manjunath Nagar, 3rd Phase, 1st Block, B-Nagar, Lakshmi Nagar, HVK Layout, Karnataka Layout, Kamala Nagar, VJSS Layout and areas around the Ward Office.

Additional Impacted Zones: Rajajinagar 2nd Stage, Nagapura, Mahalakshmi Puram Modi Hospital Road, Punjab National Bank area, Hamsalekha Home surroundings, Shankaramatha, Pipeline Road, JC Nagar, Kurabarahalli, Rajajinagar 2nd Block, ESI Hospital area, Kamala Nagar Main Road, Grihalakshmi Layout 2nd Phase, Bovi Palya, Gelayara Balaga, MICO Layout, GD Naidu Hall, West of Chord Road, Mahalakshmi Layout, ISKCON, EPSIT Road, BNES College, BELS College, Bell Soap One Apartment, Yeshwanth Apartment Indal Area, Toyota Showroom, Esteem Classic Apartment, Lumos Apartment And surrounding localities.

Residents in the affected zones are advised to plan their day accordingly, especially for tasks that rely on uninterrupted power supply.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the city is expected to experience generally cloudy skies with a chance of light rain. The maximum temperature is likely to hover around 29°C, while the minimum may drop to 21°C.

Residents are advised to prepare for both power cuts and possible drizzles, especially during the afternoon hours.

During scheduled power outages, residents are advised to charge essential devices, store water, and prepare food in advance. They can also use the downtime for reading, cleaning, or offline work.
