Once you tap on the unsubscribe link, the scammers get to know that the email is active and then the fraudsters take the next step to execute their plan.

Analysis by cyber security firm DNSFilter shows that about one in 644 unsubscribe links takes the user to a site that can harm you and there is a risk of your email password being stolen.
