Indian Railways to Launch 30 Vande Bharat Sleeper Trains for Faster, Comfortable Overnight Travel

In the current fiscal year, the government wants to run 30 Vande Bharat Sleeper trains.

By the end of July, the first Vande Bharat Sleeper train is anticipated to start operating.

The first train’s route and fare are presently being finalized by the Railway Board.

Next month, Prime Minister Modi is probably going to launch the new sleeper train.

In the fiscal year 2025–2026, 30 sleeper trains are scheduled to operate.

BEML Produces Ten Vande Bharat Sleeper Trains Ahead of Launch

Ten Vande Bharat Sleeper trains have been produced by Bengaluru’s government-owned Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML).

The other trains will be introduced gradually after the first one is authorized for use.

The Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai is producing eight to ten more Vande Bharat Sleeper trains.

BEML and ICF have been working together to develop the train coaches.

The Vande Bharat Sleeper train can travel between 160 and 240 km/h.

The fastest trains in operation at the moment are the Rajdhani, Shatabdi, and Vande Bharat (chair car), which can reach speeds of up to 130 km/h.

The initial speed of the new sleeper trains is anticipated to be 160 km/h.

Passengers will find travel more convenient and save a great deal of time thanks to this increased speed.

The Delhi-Howrah and Delhi-Mumbai routes will be the main routes served by the sleeper version.
