
Acomplaint has been registered with Bidhannagar Police against the makers of the Akshay Kumar starrer, Kesari Chapter 2 , for allegedly distorting facts relating to Bengal’s contribution to India’s freedom movement – specifically in its depiction of the Muzaffarpur Conspiracy Case .
The complaint was filed by Ranajit Biswas, a resident of Nabapally, Sector IV, who has alleged that the film has distorted the names of Bengal revolutionaries Khudiram Bose and Barindra Kumar Ghosh to ‘Khudiram Singh’ and ‘Birendra Kumar’ from Amritsar. “I was shocked to see the distorted portrayal of Khudiram Bose and Barindra Kumar Ghosh. The misrepresentation of Bengal’s revolutionary history is unacceptable. The production house must issue a correction and an apology,” Biswas told us.
Following the complaint, Bidhannagar Police registered a case under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including Section 352 (intentional insult), Section 353(1)(c) (public mischief), and Section 353(2) (circulating false information).
