Heart Warnings: Heart diseases have become the biggest cause of death in the whole world today. Every year, about 1.79 crore people lose their lives due to problems like heart disease and stroke. These deaths are about 32% of the total deaths in the world. The World Health Organization (WHO) says that 80% of these deaths occur in poor and middle-income countries. The shocking thing is that one-third of these deaths are of people under the age of 70. According to the American Heart Association, heart disease is also the biggest cause of death in America. At the same time, the CDC says that in America, someone gets a heart attack every 40 seconds. This number reaches more than 8 lakhs in a year.

Recognize the early symptoms of heart disease

Doctors say that heart attack does not always come suddenly. The body gives some signals beforehand which we often ignore thinking them to be minor. But these same symptoms can cause big trouble in the future.

1. Chest pain or heaviness

Feeling a burning sensation, pressure or heaviness in the chest is the first and common sign of a heart problem. This pain can sometimes spread to the neck, jaw, back or left arm. Especially women, elderly and diabetic patients may feel this pain as mild or gas-like.

2. Difficulty in breathing

If the heart is not functioning properly, the lungs may fill with water, which leads to shortness of breath. This problem can occur even while walking, resting or lying down.

3. Constant fatigue and weakness

Getting tired without much effort or feeling tired sooner than before can be a sign of heart weakness. Do not take it lightly.

4. Swelling in the feet or ankles

When the heart is unable to pump blood properly, water starts accumulating in the body. Swelling, especially in the feet and ankles, can be a serious sign.

5. Feeling dizzy or faint

If you feel dizzy frequently or you suddenly faint, then it could be a heart problem. This could be due to disturbance in the heartbeat or any other heart disease. If you see such symptoms, then consult a doctor and get yourself examined without delay.

6. Rapid heartbeat

If the heart is unable to pump blood properly, it speeds up. The heartbeat may feel fast, pounding or irregular. These symptoms may indicate an "arrhythmia," a problem with the heart's speed or rhythm.

7. Cough or wheezing that doesn’t go away

If you have been coughing or wheezing for a long time and it is not getting cured, then it can be a sign of water filling in the lungs. Sometimes light pink or blood mixed sputum may also come out in such a cough. This can be a symptom related to heart weakness, which should not be ignored.

8. Frequent urination at night

If you are having trouble urinating frequently at night, then this can be a mild but important sign of heart weakness. When you lie down, the water accumulated in the legs throughout the day rises up and mixes with the blood, which causes the kidneys to produce more urine. Due to this, you may have to urinate frequently at night.

9. Change in skin colour

If your skin starts to look blue or purple without feeling cold, it could be a sign that blood is not reaching the body properly. This happens when blood circulation slows down or stops, which can lead to serious problems like heart weakness or blockage in the veins.

Heart diseases often start with minor symptoms, which we usually ignore. But if we recognize these early signs on time and get it checked by a doctor, then major heart problems can be avoided. If you feel any of the symptoms mentioned above, do not delay and immediately consult a good doctor, so that timely treatment can be done.
