Cardi B Excites Fans with Comeback by Releasing 2025's First Track "Outside"; Reveals Reasons for Album Release Delay

Cardi B has officially revitalized the rap scene with her fiery new single Outside, which she unveiled during her dynamic performance at the Spotify Beach Party in Cannes on Wednesday, June 18.
While fans were excited to hear new music, many are still eagerly anticipating the follow-up to her Grammy-winning 2018 debut album Invasion of Privacy. Speaking openly during an Instagram Live session in May, Cardi B discussed the prolonged wait for her highly awaited sophomore album. The reason? She’s still waiting on several key collaborations.

Cardi B shares insights on her upcoming album
“I really need these f****** features,” Cardi expressed, half exasperated and half amused. “I’m not trying to pressure or go crazy on these artists because I love them dearly. But it’s like—come on now! I need that! I need that right now! Helloooo! Y’all don’t want to miss this opportunity. I’ll perform this s*** myself if I have to. But I really need y’all to hurry up.”
Cardi provided a glimpse into the album's creation
The Bodak Yellow rapper also offered fans a sneak peek into the creative process behind the album, sharing that she’s collaborating with both longtime partners and new talents. “I don’t have a lot of features, but I’m working with artists, some that I have collaborated with before and some that I haven’t worked with before,” she mentioned. “And the ones I haven’t? Oh, they’re gonna surprise y’all.”
Describing her forthcoming work as distinctive and genre-blending, Cardi hinted, “It’s such a vibe. I’m 100 per cent confident with this album. I just don’t think what I have is out there.”
