BH number plates are not associated with any specific state, making them ideal for individuals who move frequently.

Who is eligible for BH number plate?

Central Government Employees

State Government Employees

Defence Personnel

Bank Employees

Administrative Services Employees

Private Sector Employees whose companies have offices in four or more states/union territories

Benefits of BH Number Plate

All-India Validity - No need to re-register the vehicle when moving to another state.

Hassle-free transfer - Simplifies paperwork during job transfers.

Uniform Taxation - Road tax is paid for two years or in multiples of two years instead of a lump sum payment.

However, there is a limitation to this as well:

Not available to all vehicle owners

Transport and commercial vehicles are not eligible

How to apply for BH number plate?

Visit MoRTH Vahan Portal:

Log in to MoRTH official portal.

Fill the application form:

Submit Form 20 for new vehicle registration.

For private sector employees, also upload Form 16 (Income Proof).

Upload Documents:

Work Certificate

Employment ID

Proof of Company Presence in 4+ States (for private employees)

Choose BH Series:

Choose “BH” as the number series during the application process.

Verification by RTO:

The Regional Transport Office will verify your eligibility and documents.

Pay Fees:

Once approved, pay the applicable road tax and registration fees.

Get BH Number Plate:

After successful processing, your BH Number Plate will be issued.
