Suspense crime, Digital Desk : In a significant boost for India’s manufacturing ambitions, Apple’s key supplier, Foxconn, is reportedly set to establish a new factory in Tamil Nadu to produce metal enclosures for iPhones. This move marks a major step in localizing the iPhone supply chain and reinforces Apple’s strategy of diversifying its production away from China.

The new facility, planned by Foxconn’s subsidiary FIT Hon Teng, represents an investment of approximately $500 million and is expected to become operational within the next two years. The plant will be strategically located near Foxconn’s existing iPhone assembly unit in Sriperumbudur, creating a more integrated and efficient manufacturing ecosystem in the state.
