According to a report from The team, Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Ibrahima Diaby (18) is set to join Belgian club Cercle Brugge after turning down a professional contract with Parisians. Diaby was not in PSG’s immediate plans for first-team integration, with the club instead intending to loan him out next season.
The teenager has been a regular with Paris’ U19 side in the UEFA Youth League, opted to take control of his development and seek guaranteed playing time elsewhere. Cerle Brugge had to beat off competition from Ajax for the signature of the 18 year-old.
Diaby becomes the latest in a long list of PSG academy products to look abroad for minutes elsewhere, with competition high in Luis Enrique’s Champions League-winning outfit next season.
