On July 23, 1986, Prince Andrew married Sarah Ferguson in a grand ceremony at Westminster Abbey, and among the thousands of guests, was a young Prince William, aged four, who played a special role as a page boy.

Dressed in a sailor suit, William was photographed arriving in a horse-drawn carriage, waving to the crowds that had gathered to witness the royal nuptials, and pictures show he was just as cheeky as his son, Prince Louis, is now.

The wedding was a lavish affair, with notable guests, and after the ceremony, the couple shared a kiss on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.

Prince William's participation in the wedding highlighted his early involvement in royal duties and his close family ties, particuarly with the late Queen Elizabeth II.

William was also joined in his celebratory run by third cousin Lady Rose Windsor, the granddaughter of the Queen's uncle - the Duke of Gloucester.

A user on on social media noted how the late monarch was quick to act to avoid Prince William getting too close to the carriage wheels: "As a lifelong equestrian, she knows just how bad a tangle with a carriage could be. That move is straight-up woman preventing a barn accident."
