Veteran Pakistani actress Ayesha Khan, celebrated for her iconic roles in classic PTV dramas such as Aroosa, Mehendi, and later in Mirat-ul-Uroos, has passed away at the age of 77 in Karachi. Her death has not only saddened fans across the country but also sparked a wave of grief and concern due to the deeply tragic circumstances surrounding it.

Ayesha Khan had been living alone in her apartment in Karachi. After she was not seen for several days and a foul odour began emanating from her flat, neighbors contacted the police. Upon entering the apartment, authorities discovered that the actress had passed away nearly a week earlier. Her body was initially taken to a hospital and then moved to the Edhi morgue.

Reports suggest that Ayesha Khan has three children—two sons and a daughter. Her daughter and one of her sons reportedly live abroad in the UK and Malaysia, while the other son is based in Islamabad. Despite this, Edhi Foundation representatives revealed that no immediate family members have yet contacted them or made any arrangements to claim her body. The only update so far indicates that her son from Malaysia is expected to arrive in Pakistan to handle her final rites, but he has not yet reached, and there are still no confirmed plans for her funeral.

This news has deeply disturbed the public. Many people on social media have voiced their sorrow and outrage, questioning how such a beloved public figure could be left alone in her final days. One user wrote, “What’s the use of having children if they’re not there when you need them most?” Another commented, “Even the daughter didn’t come—daughters usually have the strongest bond with their parents.” Many also criticized the son residing in Islamabad for not stepping forward sooner.

Ayesha Khan’s passing has become a heartbreaking moment for the nation, highlighting not only the loss of a legendary artist but also the painful loneliness faced by many elderly individuals. As fans remember her incredible contribution to Pakistani television, they also hope she is laid to rest with the dignity and respect she so deeply deserves.
