Actor Bakhtyar Irani has come forward to strongly defend filmmaker Sajid Khan amid fresh controversy. His reaction follows actress Navina Bole ’s viral interview with Subhojit Ghosh, where she accused Khan of inappropriate behavior during a 2006 meeting. Navina, known for her role in Ishqbaaz, claimed that Khan had asked her to remove her clothes in the name of an audition, which allegedly took place at his residence.

The clip from her interview quickly spread across social media, drawing sharp reactions. Among them was Bakhtyar Irani, who took to the comments section to criticize Navina for speaking up after so many years and for allegedly targeting someone easily.

“Sorry but why did you go home for a meeting? Meetings normally happen at offices or public places,” Bakhtyar wrote.

“Women of 1980s or women of 2025 then and now both always knew the basics. I am sorry but stop making easy targets now. When did this happen? Why didn’t you come out then?” He continued, “With all due respect to all women, it is high time we stop giving interviews after 30 days of the incident… that much time is enough to get brains and courage.”

Navina Bole was quick to respond. She called out Bakhtyar for casting doubt on her account and urged him to watch the full podcast before forming opinions.

“It is saddening that you would question the authenticity of what I have said, considering we have been colleagues,” she wrote.

“I went assuming it was his office, which turned out to be his residence. It happened in 2006… Not that I even owe someone like you an explanation. I have brains and courage and thus spoke my truth.”

Navina’s statement was part of a podcast conversation about her experiences in the industry, not a press-initiated revelation, she clarified. The incident has reignited conversations around the casting couch and the timing of disclosures in the entertainment industry.
