Indian singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh has released the trailer of his upcoming film Sardaar Ji 3. The trailer has created a buzz as it confirms Pakistani actress Hania Aamir’s appearance in the film. This comes despite ongoing political tensions between India and Pakistan and threats of bans from Indian film bodies.

For months, there had been speculation about Hania Aamir being a part of Sardaar Ji 3. These rumors started when Diljit invited Hania on stage during his concert in London. Fans and media believed she was making her Bollywood debut with Diljit. However, nothing was officially confirmed at the time.

The speculations were further fueled when Diljit released the film’s poster featuring Neeru Bajwa but not Hania. Some reports suggested Hania had been removed from the film due to tensions between the two countries. But keen-eyed fans spotted Hania in the background of some images posted by Diljit.

On the night of June 22, Diljit surprised his fans by releasing the official trailer of Sardaar Ji 3. In the trailer, Hania Aamir is clearly seen acting alongside Diljit. Her appearance in the trailer confirmed that she is part of the film. Fans from both India and Pakistan were surprised and excited to see her onscreen.

Hania is seen speaking Punjabi fluently in the trailer. Her romantic scenes with Diljit and her graceful look in a saree have impressed many viewers. Her presence stole the spotlight, even from established Punjabi actress Neeru Bajwa.

Diljit shared the trailer on Instagram, and soon after, Hania also shared it on her Instagram story. She added a fun twist by writing, “Pindi boy aa gaye oye,” in reference to one of Diljit’s lines from the trailer.

Fans flooded the trailer’s comment section with excitement. Many expressed joy at seeing Hania in the film. However, the situation is not without controversy. Due to the ongoing ban on Pakistani artists and content in India, the film will not release in India. It will only be released overseas on June 27, 2025.

The Indian film body, Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), had earlier warned Diljit against working with a Pakistani actress. Their president even threatened to remove him from the Indian film industry. Diljit and Hania have both remained silent on the issue.

Sardaar Ji 3 is the third film in the hit Punjabi comedy-horror franchise. It is directed by Amar Hundal. In the film, Diljit plays a ghost hunter trying to deal with supernatural events in a haunted mansion. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, J.P. Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta under the banners of T-Series and JP Films. Despite the controversies, fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the film.
