'MAA' movie censored UA, know the cast and other film details here

Kajol is coming back to the big screens with her new movie ‘Maa.’ This time she is going for a massive change in the type of movies she usually does. ‘Maa’ is a supernatural thriller movie that promises to keep you on your toes. The film has been certified by the CBFC and is all set to hit theatres on 27th June, 2025.



Censor Certification of ‘Maa’As per the reports by 'PinkVilla' The CBFC has given ‘Maa’ a UA 16+ rating, which means it’s suitable for viewers who are aged 16 and above. Parental guidance is required for younger audiences, which will be below 15 years old. The movie has a duration of 2 hours and 15 minutes. This is a perfect runtime for a supernatural thriller, as it won't be too long, and that will result in a greater impact as the audience will not lose focus.



The plotBased on the trailer, which was released not very soon, Maa is a story about a mother, as the name of the movie itself suggests, who is played by Kajol and goes on a road trip with her daughter. The trip turns into a nightmare. She discovers a cursed tree that is believed to hold evil spirits. Maa has to essentially protect her family from a centuries-old curse.



Meet the star cast and the directorThe movie Maa stars Kajol in the lead role, alongside Ronit Roy, Indraneil Sengupta, Kherin Sharma, and Jitin Gulati. The film is directed by Vishal Furia.



Where to watchMaa will be released in theatres worldwide on June 27, 2025. It will stream on Netflix after 8 weeks of the release.



Kajol's upcoming moviesKajol’s last movies were ‘Lust Stories 2’ and ‘Do Patti.’ Her last film, which was released in theatres, was ‘Salaam Venky.’ The actress has yet to sign her next film. She has been reading a lot of scripts, but nothing has excited her so far. In one of her earlier interviews with ‘Pinkvilla,’ Kajol expressed her desire to work in a full-blown comedy.
