New Delhi: Bollywood actress Kajol, who is currently shooting for her upcoming horror drama 'Maa', has responded to the social media buzz created by her recent comments about Ramoji Film City. The actress, who had earlier called it one of the most haunted places in the world, has now issued a clarification. She stressed that she’s had nothing but professional and positive experiences there.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Kajol wrote, "I wish to address my earlier remark about Ramoji Film City in the context of promoting my film MAA. I have filmed multiple projects at Ramoji Film City and stayed there many times over the years."
Addressing the backlash, the actress followed up in her tweet, “I have always found it to be a very professional environment for filmmaking, and I have seen so many tourists enjoying themselves. It’s a great destination and absolutely safe for families and children.”

Kajol's Previous Comment
Her tweet came days after an interview with Galatta India went viral, in which she spoke about sensing negative energy on certain film sets. Reflecting on her experiences, she had said, “I have experienced this multiple times. Call it negative energy or vibes, but sometimes, when you go to a place, you feel like something isn’t right. I’ve shot at places where I couldn’t sleep all night, where I felt it would be good if I could just leave this place.”
With her latest statement, Kajol aims to put the controversy to rest and reassure fans that Ramoji Film City is a safe and professional environment for filmmaking and tourism.
Kajol’s Upcoming Projects
Kajol is all set to return to the big screen with 'Maa', a supernatural thriller scheduled for release on June 27. The film will share its release date with the much-anticipated pan-India project Kannappa, setting up an interesting box office face-off.
Apart from Maa, Kajol is also part of 'Sarzameen', an upcoming film featuring Prithviraj Sukumaran and debutant Ibrahim Ali Khan. While it was originally slated for a 2024 release, the project has reportedly been pushed back.
