Notice At BMC G/North Ward: Citizens Told To Switch Off Phones Despite HC Order Allowing Recordings

Chakachak Dadar social organisation shared with The Free Press Journal, a picture of an unusual notice outside the chamber of the assistant municipal commissioner of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s (BMC) G/North ward, which asks citizens to switch-off their mobile phones and other recording devices before entering.
While there is an order by the Bombay High Court and a circular by Mumbai police allowing citizens to record inside government offices, the ward officer Vinayak Vispute claims that recording photographs or videos without written permission is restricted.
