She is also called The Lady Superstar as well as Lady Amitabh. Like superstar Amitabh Bachchan she also has a huge fan following. She made a special place in the hearts of the audience with her strong acting tremendous action and performance. Lady Amitabh Of South Cinema Here we are talking about renowned South actress Vijayashanthi who created her own identity on the basis of her strong character. In those days action heroes in South Indian cinema were mostly men but breaking old notions Vijayashanti proved that women are no less than anyone by playing the role of a super cop in her films. In Karthavyam released in 1990 she played the role of a police officer who fearlessly fights criminals. The audience liked this character so much that it is remembered even today. She also received the National Film Award for this role. Vijayashanthi started her career at the age of 14. Her passion brought her great success at a young age. She started her acting career in 1980 with the Tamil film Kallukkul Iram. In the same year she also debuted in Telugu films with the film Khiladi Krishnadu. She did 19 films with actor Chiranjeevi and 16 films with Nandamuri Balakrishna. Vijayashanthi’s Outstanding Filmography Apart from these she also worked in the film Mannan with Tamil superstar Rajinikanth and in the film Indrad Chandradu with Kamal Haasan. Apart from this she appeared in films including Challenge Pasivadi Pranam Muddula Krishnaiah Agni Pavithram Yamudiki Mogudu Adhaku Yamudu Amayaki Mogudu Muddula Mavaaya Kondaveeti Donga Gang Leader. She left her mark in many languages like Tamil Telugu Malayalam Kannada and Hindi and came out with her own unique style and passion every time. She made her Bollywood debut with superstar Anil Kapoor in the 1989 film ‘Ishwar’ which becamea huge success on its release. Apart from films Vijayashanthi also entered politics. She joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in 1998. She was made secretary of the womens wing of the BJP. In the 1999 general elections she stood from the Cuddapah Lok Sabha seat but later withdrew her name. After this she formed her own political party Tali Telangana which was later merged with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi. Vijayashanthi joined the Congress in 2014 and contested the Lok Sabha elections. In 2020 Vijaya resigned from the Congress and rejoined the Bharatiya Janata Party.
