New Delhi: Gamers in India have something new to check out this week. ASUS has just announced two new gaming laptops, the TUF Gaming F16 and the latest ROG Strix G16, both powered by NVIDIA’s new RTX 5050 graphics. The devices are now available online and at ASUS’ offline retail network across India.
The launch comes just after ASUS introduced its RTX 5070 models earlier this month. Now, the focus shifts to mid-range performance with RTX 5050-powered laptops, targeting gamers who want good performance without going overboard on price.
TUF Gaming F16:
The new TUF Gaming F16 has a straightforward goal, give entry-level gamers something reliable, powerful, and a bit future-ready. It runs on Intel Core i5-13450HX paired with RTX 5050 8GB GPU. You get 16GB DDR5 RAM, 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD, and a 16-inch FHD+ display that refreshes at 165Hz. That’s enough for smooth multiplayer gaming and decent creator workflows.
ASUS is throwing in a 90WHrs battery and a backlit keyboard that supports Microsoft’s new Copilot key. This one’s priced at ₹1,24,990 and will be available through ASUS’ own store, Flipkart, Amazon, and big electronics retailers like Croma and Reliance Digital.
ROG Strix G16 (2025):
For those looking for a step up, there’s the ROG Strix G16 G615, which comes with an Intel Core i7-14650HX, RTX 5050 GPU, 16GB DDR5 RAM, and a fast 2.5K 240Hz ROG Nebula display. It offers a higher brightness level at 500 nits, full DCI-P3 coverage, and the usual ROG flair like a 4-zone RGB keyboard.
This model is listed at ₹1,59,990 and can be picked up from ASUS e-shop, Flipkart, or ASUS offline stores.
There’s also an updated version of the older ROG Strix G16 (G614), now packing the same RTX 5050 GPU, but this one is powered by AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX. With WUXGA 165Hz display, per-key RGB backlighting, and AI performance up to 16 TOPS, it’s a solid choice for streamers or creators who want a balanced machine. It’s priced slightly lower at ₹1,44,990.
More GPUs, more choice
ASUS seems to be spreading the RTX 5050 GPU across multiple machines, which could become the go-to chip for mid-range gaming laptops in the second half of 2025. While hardcore gamers will still chase RTX 5070 or higher, the 5050 models look like a sweet spot for students, young creators, or anyone looking for a new gaming laptop under ₹1.6 lakh.
