Suspense crime, Digital Desk : The controversy surrounding a fake movie poster has taken a serious and official turn, as the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, demanding a ban on all projects featuring superstar Diljit Dosanjh and the cancellation of his visa.
This drastic step comes in response to a fan-made poster for a non-existent film titled “Sardaarji 3,” which depicts Diljit alongside Pakistani actress Hania Aamir.
In a formal letter addressed to the Prime Minister and the Minister of External Affairs, S. Jaishankar, FWICE condemned the supposed collaboration. The film body reiterated its firm stance against any Indian artist working with Pakistani talent, a position solidified after the 2019 Pulwama terror attack.
The letter stated, “We have been informed that actor Diljit Dosanjh is working with Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in his new film ‘Sardaarji 3’… We request you to take this matter seriously and take immediate action against him.” FWICE called for a halt on the production of all of Diljit’s projects and urged the government to revoke his visa and passport.
This official appeal follows a wave of social media backlash that erupted last week when the fabricated poster first went viral. Despite the fact that the movie is not real and no such collaboration has been announced, FWICE has acted on the misinformation.
The incident underscores the potent combination of social media-fueled rumors and the sensitive political climate between India and Pakistan’s entertainment industries. It highlights how quickly misinformation can escalate from online chatter to official action, placing one of the country’s biggest stars at the center of a bizarre controversy built entirely on a falsehood.
Neither Diljit Dosanjh nor Hania Aamir has issued a statement regarding the fake poster or the subsequent demands from FWICE.
