New Delhi: In a big relief to passengers planning to fly to Middle East countries, Air India announced to progressively resume flights to the region with most services to restart from June 25, 2025. The airline’s announcement came as airspaces are gradually reopening in the region and most of the operations will resume from June 25.

The Tata Group airline announced that its flights to Europe have been progressively reinstated from Tuesday, while services to the East Coast of US, and Canada will resume at the earliest.

“Flights to and from Europe, previously cancelled, are also being progressively reinstated from today, while services to and from the East Coast of the US and Canada will resume at the earliest opportunity,” Air India said in a statement.

In the wake of the rising tensions in the Middle East, Air India had temporarily suspended flights to these regions. Due to the Israel-Iran conflict, several countries in the region had also closed their airspaces.

“Some flights may experience delays or cancellations due to consequential impacts and extended re-routings/flight times, but we are committed to minimising disruptions and our restoring schedule integrity. Air India will continue to avoid airspaces assessed as unsafe at any given time,” the Tata Group airline said in its statement on Tuesday.

In the wake of the Israel-Iran conflict, Air India temporarily stopped its flight services to the Middle East, Europe as well as to five destinations in the US and Canada.

“In view of the evolving situation and the closure of certain airspaces in the Middle East, Air India Express temporarily suspended flights to the region,” the airline had said in its statement.

Many airlines including, IndiGo, SpiceJet, Akasa Air suspended their flights to the Middle East due to the conflict, impacting thousands of passengers and also resulting in significant financial loss for the carriers.
