In the last 24 hours, very heavy rain was recorded in Kishanganj district of Bihar, while heavy rain occurred in parts of East Champaran, Samastipur, Rohtas and Gaya districts. Light to moderate rain was recorded in many districts of northwest, northeast, south-central and southeast Bihar. Due to the rain, the maximum temperature dropped by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius, bringing relief from the heat.
How will the weather be today on 25th June?
On June 25, the weather will remain bad in many districts of Bihar. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain at one or two places in West Champaran and Kishanganj districts. Sudden waterlogging and flood-like conditions may occur in these areas. At the same time, there is a possibility of rain with thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds (speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour) in the north-eastern and southern districts of the state.

On June 26, thunderstorms and strong winds are expected in some districts of northwestern and eastern Bihar. There is a possibility of heavy rain again at one or two places in West Champaran and Kishanganj districts. On June 27, thunderstorms and strong winds may occur in parts of south and northwestern Bihar. A heavy rain alert has been issued in Kishanganj district on this day as well.

The northern boundary of the monsoon has now reached Jammu and Kashmir via Rajasthan, Delhi, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh. In Bihar, the monsoon is gradually spreading across the state. Due to the moisture coming from the Bay of Bengal, the trough line passing through Central India and Jharkhand and the cyclonic circulation, rain activities are continuously continuing in the state. There is every possibility of monsoon remaining active for the next few days.

There is a possibility of waterlogging in low-lying areas of cities, which may disrupt traffic. Strong winds may damage slums, kutcha houses and temporary structures.
Also, there will be a danger of lightning in open spaces, so people have been advised to remain alert. Farmers have been told to avoid spraying during rain or strong winds and cover the crops safely.
