Doval's Strong Call Against Terrorism at SCO Meeting

Beijing: During a recent meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), National Security Advisor Ajit Doval emphasized the necessity for the organization to hold accountable those responsible for cross-border terrorism, a clear reference to the threats posed by Pakistan-based groups.

In his speech, Doval expressed India's serious concerns regarding the persistent dangers from UN-designated terrorist organizations, including Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Al Qaeda, and ISIS along with its affiliates.

Following the Pahalgam attack, where 26 Indian and Nepalese citizens were killed by the LeT proxy group TRF, India initiated Operation Sindoor aimed at dismantling the terror networks and preventing future assaults.

Doval noted that India's response was both 'measured and non-escalatory'.

He stressed the importance of eliminating double standards in the global fight against terrorism, urging decisive actions against UN-listed terrorists and their affiliates.

The NSA called for the dismantling of the terror infrastructure and ecosystems supporting these groups.

He reiterated that any act of terrorism, particularly cross-border attacks, constitutes a crime against humanity.

Doval urged SCO member states to ensure accountability for those involved in cross-border terrorism and to assist in bringing them to justice.

Additionally, he advocated for a 'joint information operation' to combat terrorism, separatism, and extremism.
