Electrocution Claims Lives of Mother and Daughter in Barabanki
In a heartbreaking incident in Barabanki district, Uttar Pradesh, a mother and her daughter lost their lives due to electrocution while handling wet clothes on Wednesday afternoon, as reported by local authorities.
According to police, 24-year-old Chaman Zahra, daughter of Ali Haider, went to retrieve clothes from the terrace after a light drizzle. Unfortunately, the iron wire on which the clothes were hanging was live with electricity.
As Chaman reached for the clothes, she was electrocuted. Hearing her screams, her mother, 45-year-old Kaniyaz Fatima, rushed to the terrace in an attempt to save her daughter.
Tragically, Fatima also fell victim to the electric shock during her rescue attempt. Family members and nearby residents quickly transported both mother and daughter to a community health center, where doctors pronounced them dead.
Alok Mani Tripathi, the officer in charge of Asandra police station, confirmed that the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination, and an investigation is underway. Initial assessments suggest that the incident was caused by electrocution, and a technical inspection by the electricity department is also being conducted.
