Chief Minister's Strong Remarks Against Congress
Madhya Pradesh's Chief Minister, Mohan Yadav, has accused the Congress party of disrespecting the legacy of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. He stated on Wednesday that the main opposition party is shamelessly staging a drama in Gwalior merely to gain votes under Ambedkar's name.
Yadav's comments were directed at Congress's protest in Gwalior, which demanded the installation of a statue of Ambedkar within the premises of the Madhya Pradesh High Court. Speaking to reporters in Indore, he emphasized that Congress has never honored Ambedkar, neither during his lifetime nor after his passing.
He remarked, "Today, Congress leaders are only performing for votes in Gwalior, and the public is well aware of their past misdeeds."
The Chief Minister claimed that Congress had previously arranged for the statue of Ambedkar not to be installed at the High Court's Gwalior bench.
He added, "Now that the matter has reached the Chief Justice of the High Court, Congress leaders are creating a spectacle across the state."
Yadav also criticized Congress on the 50th anniversary of the Emergency, asserting that the party has consistently mocked the Constitution.
He stated, "The stain of the Emergency was marked during Congress's rule, which imprisoned democracy. The current leadership of Congress should apologize to the public for this. "
The Emergency was declared by then-Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on June 25, 1975, during which civil rights were suspended, opposition leaders and dissenters were imprisoned, and censorship was imposed on the press.
