Lucknow. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took part in a program organized in Lucknow on the 50th anniversary of the Emergency. During this, he said that on this day, the Congress and the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had strangled the Constitution to save their power. She wanted that her power should remain whether democracy remains or not.
The Chief Minister said, today is an opportunity to expose the faces of those who, in the guise of democracy, made a despicable attempt to sacrifice the values and ideals of India for their own selfish interests. To mark the completion of 50 years of the dark chapter of the Emergency, he participated in the ‘Samvidhan Hatya Diwas Program’ organized in Lucknow today. On this occasion, he inaugurated an exhibition based on the tragedy of the ‘Emergency’ and started a seminar on the topic of ‘The Dark Chapter of Indian Democracy’. He also honored the democracy fighters who raised their voice against those who strangled the Constitution.
He further said, starting from Pt. Nehru’s government, whenever it got the opportunity, Congress never missed a chance to insult Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar and the Constitution of India. The work of trampling fundamental freedom was started by the Congress-led governments immediately after the Constitution was implemented and this series which started from there, reached its climax in the year 1975…
He also said, ‘Their’ double character is dangerous for democracy… Also, it is the biggest obstacle in front of those values and ideals which were dreamt of by the freedom fighters of India. Whenever Congress, RJD and Samajwadi Party got a chance, they did not hesitate in strangling democracy. We will have to tell the coming generation – who are the people who worked to shatter the dream of Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar ji.
The Chief Minister further said, we are announcing that we will implement a system of cashless treatment for our democracy fighters in Uttar Pradesh and their family members in the state.
