Shubhanshu Shukla, a group Captain of Indian Air Force and astronaut of ISRO, is going to create history on the International Space Station (ISS) today. The spacecraft of the historic AXIOM-4 mission of Axiom Space is going to do the ISS on 26 June, which will formally start the 14-day space campaign. In this mission, Shukla is not only representing India as a mission pilot, but will also play a major role in scientific research and technical performance.
On 25 June, the Dragon Spacecraft was launched from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, NASA, through the Falcon-9 rocket of SpaceX. This mission had already faced a lot of delay, but now it is going to join the space station today on time.
Expected to docking from 7 am to noon
According to NASA, Axiom Space and Spacex, there is a possibility of dock at the international space station of the dragon spacecraft from 7 am to 4:30 pm (Indian time). Docking will be done at the space-facing port of the hormony module.
The role of ‘Sh from’ will be decisive
Shubhanshu Shukla, who is known as ‘Shax’ in his team, will play a very important role during the docking process. As a mission pilot, Shukla will have to closely monitor the position of the Dragon vehicle, projection path and space station so that the docking can be absolutely accurate and safe.
There will be more than 60 scientific experiments in space
After docking, a member of the Axiom-4 mission will experiment around 60 scientists to microgravity. Seven of these experiments will be responsible for Shubhanshu Shukla. NASA reported that these experiments include studies based on health, biology, material science and innovative techniques.
ISRO and NASA partnership
During the mission, NASA and ISRO will also participate in five joint science probes and two stem (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) in-arbitration performance. This partnership will further strengthen India-US space cooperation and will become an inspiration for the young scientists of India.
These astronauts are included in the mission
In addition to Shubhanshu Shukla from India in a four-member team of AXIOM-4 mission:
Pagi Whitson (US) – Mission Commander
Savoz Uznaki-Vinivsky (Poland)-Mission Specialist
Tibor Kapu (Hungary) – Mission Specialist
Moment of pride for India
Shubhanshu Shukla’s participation in Axiom-4 mission is a matter of pride and inspiration for India. This mission is not just a technical achievement, but is a symbol of India’s strong presence in the space sector. This mission has brought a new hope for the young scientists and students of India.
