WhatsApp has introduced a special AI feature for its millions of users, so that no unread message is ignored. Meta's WhatsApp, one of the most used messaging apps in the world, claims more than 600 million daily active users in India alone. This new feature will be especially beneficial for those who often ignore important messages. The name of this feature is AI Summarize, which uses Meta's AI technology to give users a summary of all their unread messages. This feature can be useful for those messages that they have missed or do not feel like opening. According to a blog post by Meta, a new technology called Private Processing is the basis of this feature, which ensures that users' messages remain confidential and secure and are not available to anyone else.
Works with all types of messages
WhatsApp's blog has confirmed that this AI feature will work for both group and personal messages. It will prepare a summary of all unread messages, allowing users to stay updated without missing any important information. Meta has stressed that AI will ensure the privacy of users' messages and the summary will be visible only to the concerned user.
Complete security guaranteed
In the blog post, the company has assured users that their private messages will be kept safe through private processing. Apart from this, AI will also give suggestions for these messages, so that users will not need to read them. Currently, this feature is available to users in the US and supports only the English language, while support for other languages is still being planned.
How it works
WhatsApp claims that this private processing uses a computing infrastructure based on a Trusted Execution Environment (TEE), which ensures the highest level of security. To use this feature, users simply have to go to the chat section of WhatsApp. Here, all the unread messages will be shown in bullet or list format, allowing users to view them easily without having to open each message and miss any important updates.
