In fact, political situation between India and Bangladesh has not been good for some time, due to which there was suspense over the Indian team’s tour of Bangladesh, but till now the central government has not given any instructions on it, after which the possibility of playing the series between the two countries has increased. According to media reports, the BCCI official said that the visit could be done at the moment. We have not held any discussion about postponing or canceling the series.
He further said, “We have not received any instructions from the government to cancel the visit. If such a situation comes, we will take a decision accordingly. However, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced the schedule in April itself.” However, on this tour, T20 format captain Suryakumar Yadav is finding it difficult to go, as he has undergone hernia surgery a few days ago and he is still resting. If Surya does not fit till this tour, then another player can be made captain for a three -match T20I series.
Who are in the captaincy race?
Shubman Gill is likely to rest on the Bangladesh tour after a long tour. In such a situation, Shreyas Iyer or Akshar Patel can take charge of the team. Iyer is likely to be handed over the captaincy, as everyone was affected by his captaincy in IPL 2025. Under the captaincy of Iyer, Punjab Kings reached the IPL playoffs and then the final after a long time.
