Celebrations Begin for Jagannath Rath Yatra
The annual Jagannath Rath Yatra has commenced in Puri, attracting a large crowd of participants. District Magistrate Siddharth Swain and Superintendent of Police Vineet Agarwal provided updates on the planning efforts to ensure a safe and organized event. The Odisha government has made extensive arrangements for the annual chariot festival, with millions of devotees arriving in Puri on Friday. According to officials, by Thursday evening, approximately 100,000 people had already reached the city, and this number surged significantly by Friday morning. Authorities anticipate that millions of pilgrims from across the country and abroad will take part in this grand procession. Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his best wishes to everyone celebrating the Jagannath Rath Yatra on Friday.
