The Neeraj Chopra Classic 2025 event originally scheduled for May 24th will now take place on July 5th. The event, originally scheduled for May 24 only for it to be postponded due to tensions between India and Pakistan. The meet has earned an ‘A’ category status from World Athletics, highlighting its growing stature on the global calendar and is being jointly organised by Neeraj Chopra, JSW Sports, the Athletics Federation of India (AFI), and World Athletics.
The internal athletes takign part in the event are The international contingent will be headlined by Anderson Peters of Grenada, a two-time world champion with a PB of 93.07m, and Thomas Röhler of Germany, the 2016 Olympic gold medallist, who boasts a PB of 93.90m. Also competing is Julius Yego of Kenya, the 2015 world champion, known for his PB of 92.72m.
Curtis Thompson of the USA the current season leader with a throw of 87.76m along with Genki Dean (Japan), Rumesh Pathirage (Sri Lanka), and Luiz Mauricio da Silva (Brazil)
