Exciting Discounts to Boost Tourism
Dharamshala: To enhance tourism during the rainy season, the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) has introduced discounts ranging from 20% to 40% on room rates at many of its hotels.
The promotional offer is valid from July 15 to September 12, 2025. With these reduced rates, travelers can now enjoy the picturesque hills of Himachal Pradesh without straining their finances.
Wide Coverage of Hotels Under the Discount Scheme
The HPTDC manages over 56 properties throughout the state, and the majority are included in this discount initiative. Hotels situated in popular tourist spots such as Shimla, Manali, Dalhousie, Dharamshala, Chamba, Narkanda, Kasauli, Chail, Rewalsar, Rampur, Fagu, Palampur, and Sarahan will feature these reduced rates during the promotional period.
Some of the most attractive discounts are available at scenic and well-equipped hotels. For instance, guests can enjoy up to 40% off at Hotel Hatu in Narkanda, Ros Common in Kasauli, Chail Palace and Annexie, The Golf Glade in Naldehra, Hotel Geetanjali and Hotel Manimahesh in Dalhousie, and Apple Blossom in Fagu.
Additionally, a 20% discount is offered at Hotel Shrikhand in Sarahan, Rohtang Manalsu in Manali, Tourist Inn in Rewalsar, Bushahr Regency in Rampur, Hotel Silvermoon and Hotel Sarvari in Kullu, as well as Hotel Baghhal and Chanshal in Rohru.
Other popular hotels, such as Hotel Holiday Home (Shimla), The Castle (Naggar), Club House (McLeodganj), Hotel Meghdoot (Kyarighat), Hotel Kunzam (Manali), Hotel Kunal (Dharamshala), Hotel Yamuna (Paonta Sahib), Hotel Hill Top (Swarghat), Hotel Renuka (Renukaji), Hotel Pinewood (Barog), and many more across districts like Bilaspur, Mandi, Kangra, and Sirmaur, are offering a 30% discount.
Significant Savings for Travelers
The discounts are expected to attract both local and out-of-state tourists, particularly families and those on a budget. Rajeev Kumar, Managing Director of HPTDC, stated that this initiative aims to boost room occupancy during the typically slower monsoon season.
Occupancy rates in HPTDC hotels usually range from 40% to 50% during the rainy season, but can increase to 60-90% on weekends. With the new pricing strategy, the corporation anticipates a notable rise in bookings and visitor numbers, according to Rajeev Kumar.
Tourists can take advantage of these discounts by reserving rooms through the official HPTDC website, which provides detailed rate charts, hotel amenities, and real-time availability. While walk-in bookings at hotel receptions are permitted, advance reservations are recommended due to the expected increase in demand.
Exclusions from the Discount Offer
Some properties are not included in the discount scheme, such as Hotel Chandrabhaga (Keylong), The Spiti (Kaza), Kinner Kailash (Kalpa), Hotel Suket (Sundernagar), Willie Park (Shimla), and Hamir Hotel (Hamirpur).
Moreover, no discounts will be applicable at Hotel Iravati and Hotel Champak in Chamba during the Minjar Fair (July 27 to August 3). Hotel Gaurikund in Bharmour will also not offer discounts during the Manimahesh Yatra (August 11 to September 1).
