Arrest in Faridabad Daughter-in-law Murder Case

In a shocking incident from Faridabad's Navin Nagar area, police have apprehended a woman’s mother-in-law in connection with her murder. The victim, reportedly killed by her in-laws, was discovered buried in a pit outside her home. Authorities revealed that new evidence indicates the victim, Tannu, was raped and murdered by her father-in-law, who was also involved in the crime alongside her mother-in-law. The police are currently searching for Tannu's husband, Arun, who remains at large.

Father-in-law Allegedly Raped Before Murder

The investigation into the murder of the daughter-in-law in Faridabad has uncovered that her father-in-law allegedly raped her before committing the murder. Police confirmed that the mother-in-law is also implicated in the crime and has been arrested. According to officials, Arun, the victim's husband, has been missing since the incident, and efforts to locate him are ongoing. A police officer stated that the main suspect, Bhup Singh (the father-in-law), has been remanded for three additional days for questioning, during which he reportedly disclosed that the murder was premeditated.

Murder Plan Formulated on April 15

A senior officer involved in the case revealed that the plan to murder 24-year-old Tannu was devised on April 15, with her husband and mother-in-law allegedly participating in the conspiracy. During questioning, Bhup Singh reportedly admitted that the mother-in-law was sent to attend a wedding in Etah, Uttar Pradesh, on the same day. Police stated that on the night of April 21, Arun allegedly mixed sleeping pills into the food of both Tannu and his sister Kajal, leading them to fall into a deep sleep in their respective rooms.

Father-in-law's Actions Before the Murder

According to a senior police official, it was decided that Bhup Singh would carry out the murder alone while Arun remained in a room on the ground floor. The officer explained that Bhup Singh entered Tannu's room late at night, intending to strangle her with a dupatta, but before doing so, he allegedly raped her. The officer further noted that Bhup Singh did not inform his son or wife about the assault. Shortly after, he called Arun upstairs, and together they allegedly disposed of the body in a pre-dug pit in the alley.

Cover-Up Attempts by the Accused

The officer reported that both accused covered the body with bricks and soil. They informed neighbors that the pit was being dug for sewer construction. Tannu's body was later exhumed in the presence of Naib Tehsildar Jaswant Singh. A First Information Report (FIR) has been filed against four members of the in-laws, including Bhup Singh, mother-in-law Sonia, son Arun Singh, and daughter Kajal, at Palla police station. Tannu's body was allegedly buried in front of her home by her in-laws, who concealed the matter by filing a missing person report for nearly two months. Tannu, originally from Shikohabad in Firozabad district, had married Arun Singh two years ago in the Roshan Nagar area.
