
Support for Tejashwi Yadav
Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Akhilesh Yadav announced that his party will assist Tejashwi Yadav of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) in the forthcoming Bihar Assembly elections scheduled for the end of this year. Speaking to reporters after celebrating the birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj at the SP headquarters, Yadav expressed his commitment to bolster Tejashwi Yadav's position and stand alongside RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav.

Yadav emphasized that his party is dedicated to following the path laid out by Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Ram Manohar Lohia, and the founder of the Samajwadi Party, Mulayam Singh Yadav. He confirmed that he had a video call with Tej Pratap Yadav, Lalu Prasad Yadav's son, who has been expelled from the RJD and the family, although he was unaware of the significance of the conversation at the time. Akhilesh mentioned that Tej Pratap had reached out to him twice, and he responded via video call.

During the video call, Akhilesh inquired about Tej Pratap's preferred constituency for contesting the elections. He remarked, "This is a common question among politicians." In a viral video on social media, Tej Pratap was seen telling Akhilesh that he would decide after meeting with the SP leader in Lucknow. Akhilesh further asserted that the BJP would lose in the Bihar elections, claiming that the people of Bihar have recognized the BJP's tactics, especially after the change of Chief Minister following the Maharashtra elections. He accused the BJP of violating constitutional provisions whenever they have been in power.
