

New Delhi: Tamil Nadu’s Nomaan Pappu produced a tactical masterclass to shatter top seed Jashwanth Mahamkali’s title hopes on the penultimate day of the Yonex-Sunrise All India Sub Junior (U-13) Ranking Badminton Tournament 2025 at the Manohar Parrikar Indoor Stadium, Navelim, with a commanding 21-19, 21-15 win to storm into the Boys Singles final.
Joining him in the title clash is Haryana’s talented Shlok Chowdhury Roy (4), who showed grit and resilience to overcome Gujarat’s Vivaan Shah 9-21, 22-20, 21-10 in a thrilling turnaround.

In Girls Singles, the top-ranked Asha Sree Dandu (Andhra Pradesh) continued her commanding form with a 21-14, 21-15 win over Karnataka’s Punya MN, while Kyra Raina (5) of Maharashtra showcased her consistency by defeating West Bengal’s Bitama Paul 23-21, 21-14 to reach the final. In Boys Doubles, Pratham Vishal Raut (Maharashtra) and Vivaan Shah (3), Gujarat survived a scare from Assam’s Kotoky twins, finally prevailing 28-26, 15-21, 21-12.
They will now face the formidable duo of Shivesh Gupta (Uttar Pradesh) and Jashwanth Mahamkali (2), Andhra Pradesh, who eased past the Arunachal Pradesh pair of Tagu Debia and Kyon Tamin with a dominant 21-4, 21-9 victory.
The Girls Doubles final will witness Srivaibhavi Anumula and Anya Proddatur (5), Telangana, taking on Tamil Nadu’s Nithiksha Jeganathan and Aaditri Kannan, after both pairs registered straight-game wins in the semifinals. The tournament, organised by the Goa Badminton Association under the aegis of the Badminton Association of India and supported by the Sports Authority of Goa, concludes Saturday with the finals across all four events.
