
India Exported Litchi from Punjab to uae: The fragrance of India’s litchi will now be sorry in Qatar. India has sent the first consignment of a rose fragrance litchi from Pathankot to Qatar. The Branch of the Ministry of Commerce, Agriculture and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) said on Friday that India had exported 1.5 tonnes of litchi from Punjab to Doha and Dubai for the first time this month.

In order to promote the country’s horticulture exports, the Agriculture and Processed Food Export Development Authority (APEDA) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of the Central Government helped to depart the first consignment of 1 MT of Rose from Pathankot in Punjab on June 23 in collaboration with Horticulture Department in the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of Punjab. In addition, 0.5 MT of litchi was also exported from Pathankot to Dubai, which is dual export achievement and strengthens India’s presence in fresh fruit global markets.
The initiative was taken by the Authority in collaboration with the Horticulture Department of Punjab and the Lullu Group. During 2023-24, Punjab’s litchi production stood at 71,490 tonnes, which is 12.39 percent of India’s total litchi production.
