Swiatek’s first win against a top-10 player in grass
The win over world number five Paolini is also Swiatek’s first over a top-10 player on the grass. The 24-year-old tennis sensation said that she was happy and super excited to get this win and she just focused on doing her job. Additionally, she also mentioned that she was not expecting a win.
‘I am super happy, I was not expecting this. I just did my job, knew what I wanted to play and I went for it,’ said Swiatek.
With Wimbledon beginning on Monday, June 30, she will have a tough final to face in Saturday, June 28, against top seeded player Jessica Pegula of America. Pegula, earlier, fought back to beat Czech Linda Noskova 6-7, 7-5, 6-1 in an interesting battle.
