Mangaluru: Elderly woman injured after being hit by car near Pumpwell; driver held

Mangaluru: A 67-year-old woman sustained injuries after being hit by a speeding car near Gorigudde, between Pumpwell and Ekkur, on Thursday morning.
The victim, Anupama, a local resident, was reportedly crossing the road near Gorigudde when the incident occurred. The car, which was coming from the direction of Jeppinamogaru, struck her and fled the scene without stopping.
Anupama suffered a head injury and is currently admitted to the hospital for treatment.
Following the incident, Mangaluru South Police registered a case and launched an investigation. Based on CCTV footage from the area, police were able to identify and detain the car driver.
