Land Allotment for Electric Vehicle Project
The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has announced the allocation of 100 acres to the Electric Vehicle Manufacturing Welfare Trust (EVMWT) for establishing an integrated electric vehicle manufacturing facility close to the Noida International Airport. Officials revealed on Thursday that a letter of intent (LOI) has been issued to the trust following its request for land. YEIDA has committed to providing land in Sector-8 for this initiative.
Support for EV Battery Startups
In addition, a startup specializing in electric vehicle batteries for two-wheelers, including models like Royal Enfield, will receive 10,000 square meters in the 206-acre Electronics Manufacturing Cluster-2 (EMC-2) located in Sector-10. Notably, Havells has already secured 50 acres in this cluster as an anchor company, with three other significant firms also receiving plots.
Ninjas Electric's New Manufacturing Unit
According to authority official Singh, Ninjas Electric has been granted an LOI to produce electric vehicle chargers, LED lighting panels, and solar technologies in Sector-10. Founded in 2021, this startup is based in Noida and operates manufacturing units in Greater Noida.
CEO's Insights on EV Cluster Development
Arun Vir Singh, CEO of YEIDA, stated, "The EVMWT will create a dedicated cluster for the production of EV autorickshaws and two-wheelers, along with component manufacturing. The land acquisition process is currently underway in Sector 8. The LOI for the 100-acre allotment is contingent upon the approval of the Invest UP Empowered Committee, state policy guidelines, and other relevant regulatory requirements."
Recent Developments in EMC 2.0
Last week, Dixon Technologies was allocated 22.5 acres in the EMC 2.0 cluster, marking its entry into this industrial hub. Dixon has received an LOI to establish a facility for manufacturing mobile phones, consumer electronics, telecom equipment, lighting products, and white goods.
Growing Interest in the Electronics Manufacturing Cluster
Moreover, Ascent-K Circuits and Aurionpro Toshi Automatic Systems have also been authorized to set up operations under a central government initiative. Officials noted that this 206-acre cluster is attracting significant interest from leading industrial firms across the country.
Progress in Land Acquisition
The CEO further mentioned that the land acquisition process in Sector-10 is ongoing. The EMC 2.0 project received formal approval from Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and Minister of State Jitin Prasada on Wednesday, following in-principle approval from the Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY) during the 7th Project Review Committee meeting in April.
